Keep KHAM and Carry On: How Danni Murray’s Wellness Pivot Is Changing Lives

After two decades immersed in the world of interior design, Danni Murray could’ve easily kept doing what she knew best. But when her two eldest sons flew the coop within a month of each other, and she suddenly found herself a first-time (and very young) grandparent, something shifted. She craved purpose. Fulfilment. A fresh sense of joy.
“I went deep to analyse what was important to me, what made me happy, and how I could still generate an income,” Danni shares. “Being heavily focused on fitness, health, and overall well-being, this pivot just felt fitting.”
That pivot became KHAM, a beautifully curated wellness lodge tucked away on the Northern Beaches that feels more boutique hotel than traditional day spa. Think: saunas with pine tree views, an alfresco plunge pool, a firepit under the stars, and a listening room fitted with Danni’s private vinyl collection, complete with wireless Bose headphones. Yep, she’s thought of everything.

With 20 years of interior design experience behind her, Danni knew how much environment impacts well-being. So when it came to creating KHAM, she applied the same design philosophy: “When people walk through the door, I hear things like ‘it feels like a boutique hotel’ or ‘this has Blue Mountains vibes.’ That warm, nurturing energy, that’s exactly what I wanted to create.”
One surprise? Just how aligned she was with the times. “I followed my instincts and heart,” she says, “but I had no idea the wellness wave was cresting. It’s been amazing!”
And while the space itself is stunning, it’s the people who keep her inspired. “All the new and diverse people I’ve met, it’s honestly been incredible.”
As for treatments, KHAM keeps it simple and soulful. “It’s about the nurture for me,” she says. “We also have an AMAZING massage therapist named Chris who’s getting a bit of a cult following for her massages!”
Outside of KHAM, wellness for Danni is all about balance. “Food is medicinal in my opinion, and it’s underrated in treating mental health. My rituals include lemon water with apple cider vinegar, greens, daily movement, and ocean swims. That first dive under the wave early in the morning - there’s nothing like it.”
She’s also a firm believer in good friendships, Epsom salt baths, and the joy of singing along to music, which explains the Listening Room. “Music’s been a major part of my life, and it makes me so happy to hear someone having a little singalong in there. Makes my heart sing too!”

As for her own happy places on the Beaches? “Palmy. Spiritual to me. And my own home, especially my veggie garden and my she shed.”
With KHAM still in its early days, there are plenty of offers available through the Instagram booking link, and yes, events are brewing too, but they’re under wraps for now. (Watch this space.)
KHAM is also available for exclusive-use wellness days, tailored for birthdays, corporate events, or bridal groups. Danni and her team handle everything from cacao ceremonies and yoga to nurturing massage and chef-prepared menus designed just for KHAM’s wellness ethos.
It’s the kind of place that doesn’t just look beautiful - it feels it too.
